Unemployment Rate in Vietnam averaged 2.30 percent from 1998 to 2017, hasn’t include a huge amount of labor working in jobs which are different from what they were educated at school. So why a graduate can’t get a job or can’t get a right job? Well, in my opinion, the reason is from 2 parts: from schools and from the students. The teaching programs in VN are behind the times. Many universities in VN use the materials reprinted tens of years ago. While the knowledge is developing day by day. If we don’t study the newest, how can we get success in life!! The teaching programs attach special importance to theory, not focus on practicing. So when graduate, students can’t work well. Moreover, the link between the school and the company hasn’t been established. The schools teach in their way, never meet the need of the employers. Beside school, students are also an important factor in getting a job. Vietnamese students are too passive. They only learn what they are taught at school without searching for more knowledge. And they don’t equip for themselves the soft skills like foreign language, communication, leading ability, team building,ect,…These things make them fail in the eyes of the employers and ofcourse no job for them. In fact, it’s hard for a graduate to get a job in Vietnam in this period of time. But if we –schools, students and companies co-operate, I believe students will get good jobs and employers have good staffs in the near future.
